It’s well known a cancer diagnosis is a physical experience. What patients and families are often surprised by is how in addition to the physical side, there is also a very real, challenging emotional side. This brings the potential for a significant impact on mental health. The LivingWell counseling team is equipped to support participants wellbeing by providing opportunities to talk openly about feelings of fear, anger, sadness, guilt, worry and loss. LivingWell Counselors provide care in a comfortable and supportive environment and support participants in learning healthy coping skills, communication strategies and ways to process the difficult emotions that come along with cancer, caregiving and loss.
Support services offered by the LivingWell counseling team:
- Initial Consultation: Designed with new participants in mind, Initial Consultation appointments offer individuals or families the opportunity to connect with a counselor in order to best identify which programs and services may meet their unique needs
- Individual Counseling: Provides any individual living with a cancer diagnosis, caring for someone with a diagnosis, or who has lost someone from a diagnosis with the opportunity to have ongoing psychosocial support throughout his or her cancer-related experience.
