Nancy Vance, Executive Director
Nancy joined LivingWell soon after its inception in September 2005 and serves as executive director. Nancy brings to this position 27 years of experience in not for profit leadership most of which has been focused in oncology and patient advocacy. She has successfully lobbied in Washington D.C. on behalf of cancer patients and their families to ensure comprehensive cancer services are available to all who need them. Nancy serves on a variety of not for profit boards including the Cancer Health Alliance of Metropolitan Chicago. Nancy earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration and Communications from Northern Illinois University.
Laura Antonsen, Program Concierge
Laura has been with LivingWell since its inception and serves as LivingWell’s program concierge where she provides logistical support for evening program offerings. Laura also provides tours, implements participant satisfaction surveys, and coordinates community outreach activities through LivingWell’s ambassador program.
Shannon Brown, Social Worker
Shannon is a licensed social worker who works with individuals and families impacted by cancer in Infusion, Medical Oncology and Radiation Oncology settings at Northwestern Medicine Cancer Center at Delnor Hospital. Shannon earned her Masters of Social Work from University of Illinois at Chicago and her Bachelor of Social Work from Western Illinois University.
Mary Beth Henry, Administrative Assistant
Mary Beth has more than 20 years of experience working with software systems and is responsible for data collection, and the coordination of LivingWell’s participant tracking program. Mary Beth earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Business from Northern Illinois University.
Cheri Hunt, Art Instructor
Cheri’s helps participants discover their inner artist using a variety of materials and teaching many fundamental art techniques. She also provides art to adults and children receiving treatment at a variety of cancer treatment centers.
Sarah Kendra, Social Worker
Sarah is a licensed clinical social worker who works with individuals and family impacted by cancer in Infusion, Medical Oncology and Radiation Oncology settings at Northwestern Medicine Cancer Center at Delnor Hospital. Sarah earned her Masters of Social Work from University of Michigan School of Social Work and her Bachelor of Arts from Albion College.
Christine McMinn, Counselor
Christine is a licensed clinical professional counselor who facilitates bereavement programs, provides individual and family counseling and is responsible for LivingWell’s children’s programming. She is a national certified counselor who earned her Masters of Science in Education in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Northern Illinois University and her Bachelor of Science in Psychology from John Carroll University.
Sheri Minnick, Wellness Associate
Sheri has been teaching at LivingWell since 2013 and teaches multiple mind/body classes, and coordinates all of the mindful movement and fitness volunteer facilitators. Sheri is trained to teach cancer patients through Duke Integrative medicine, has a MS in Health Physics, and is certified in yoga, meditation, group fitness and holds specialty cancer certifications in Zumba Gold and BOSU ball training.
Kelley Navar, Counselor
Kelley is a licensed clinical professional counselor who facilitates support groups and provides counseling services to teens, adults, and families. Kelley earned her Masters of Arts in Clinical Psychology from the Chicago School of Professional Psychology, and her Bachelor of Arts in Sociology from the University of Iowa. She has also been trained in advanced level of Somatic Experiencing®.
Rebecca Ness, Social Worker
Becky is a licensed clinical social worker and serves as a member of the gynecology-oncology, gastrointestinal-oncology and breast cancer clinics and multidisciplinary teams at the Northwestern Medicine Cancer Center in Warrenville, IL. Becky also serves as the social worker for the Chicago Proton Center in Warrenville IL where she supports children and adults receiving cancer treatment. Becky earned her Masters of Social Work degree at Loyola University in Chicago and earned her Bachelor of Science degree at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign.
Tracey Nowicki, Office Manager
Tracey joined LivingWell in March of 2016 and provides oversight and coordination for LivingWell’s 150+ wonderful volunteers and for several program modalities. Tracey is also responsible for general office activities of the Center and provides administrative support to the executive director and the board of directors.
Melissa Petty, Lead Counselor
Missy is a licensed clinical professional counselor who facilitates support groups and provides individual counseling for adult patients and caregivers. As lead counselor, Missy provides oversight and coordination for counseling and support group programs. Missy earned her Masters of Education degree in Human Services and Counseling from DePaul University and a Bachelor of Arts degree in Sociology from DePaul University.
Amy Rollins, Program and Outreach Coordinator
Amy has been with LivingWell since June 2015 and provides oversight of all new program creation, the Ambassador and Outreach Program, participant satisfaction and coordinates with the Professional Advisory Committee.
Lori Hansen, Special Event Coordinator
Lori serves as a staff member of Northwestern Memorial Foundation assigned to LivingWell Cancer Resource Center. Lori brings more than 15 years of successful special event fundraising experience to her role. Lori is responsible for creating and managing LivingWell’s special event fundraisers including our Annual Benefit and the Bridge Walk. Lori earned a Bachelor of Arts degree from Northern Illinois University in Elementary and Special Education.
Karen Hill, Director of Major and Planned Gifts
Karen serves as a staff member of the Northwestern Memorial Foundation assigned to support LivingWell and has more than 20 years of successful fundraising experience. She works with donors who want to make a difference through philanthropic major gifts to LivingWell including the Hansen Legacy Society and those who name LivingWell in their estate plans. Karen earned a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of St. Thomas and a Master of Science degree in Public Service Administration from DePaul University.
